Gatekeepers Consulting
PROJECT
Gatekeepers Consulting needed more than a website — they needed an identity. I built their brand from scratch (mark, palette, typography) through a structured discovery process, then translated it into a live, single-page site built around a clear contact path.
PROBLEM
Gatekeepers Consulting needed more than a website — they needed an identity. I built their brand from scratch (mark, palette, typography) through a structured discovery process, then translated it into a live, single-page site built around a clear contact path.
APPROACH
Built the brand from scratch, starting with a questionnaire on the client’s vision, tone and any visual references they had in mind. Used that to scope deliverables, then moved into Figma to show low-fidelity concepts of the new site once the branding was locked.
RESULT
Site is live. The client reported feeling more confident presenting the business in meetings with their own clients now that they have something real to show.
01
THE PLAN
The brief was a simple single-page site with a clear contact path. But the site they had was tiled with a stretched logo and nothing else — no palette, no type decisions, no point of view. For a consulting business whose whole pitch is operational credibility, that reads as unprofessional before a word is read. Structure was never the problem; there was no identity to build a page on.
02
THE QUESTIONNAIRE CAME FIRST
Before designing anything I sent a questionnaire on vision, tone and any visual references the client already had in mind. That answered the questions I would otherwise have guessed at, and it let me scope the deliverables honestly — brand first, site second. Only once the branding was locked in I can move to designing the website
03
BRANDING
The client wanted the mark to signal trust above all else. A shield does that directly, and it nods to what they actually do — RV and self-storage oversight — without being literal about it. No roll-up doors, no vehicles. The shape carries the meaning so the logo still works at favicon size and on a business card.

04
TEN, THEN TEN AGAIN
I ran a 10+10 process: ten initial directions, then narrowed on client feedback into ten refined concepts from the strongest direction before landing on the final mark. Volume first, judgement second. It also gave the client a real say at the point where changing direction was still cheap, rather than at the end.
